Dopo quasi 24 ore di paranoie su cosa mai di così terribile le verrà chiesto per spezzare la sua umanità… Jessica è quasi sollevata sentendo finalmente il piano del suo generale quando questi la conduce finalmente a destinazione, davanti ad una cava di antracite che appartiene a quanto pare alla figlia del Principe di Boston. Pale, picconi e liquido infiammabile che aveva visto sul furgone dunque, così come la distruzione di cui lo Tzimisce aveva parlato, non si riferivano a qualcosa di orrendo come un abbraccio di massa di poveri ignavi, ma al privare i nemici di una risorsa, qualcosa che in guerra era sicuramente più che sacrosanto. Jess prova quindi a mettercela tutta per non deludere di nuovo lo Tzimisce, riesce per la prima volta ad usare l’oscurazione appresa dall’amico Malkavian uccidendo alle spalle e senza un fiato il primo dei guardiani… e riesce a difendersi più che egregiamente anche in uno scontro a fuoco in cui Maarten la costringe spezzando la sua copertura. Certo… alle strette riesce a dominare e salvare uno dei guardiani ma… nel complesso ne uccide una mezza dozzina e riesce fortunosamente a strappare l’anima di un Gangrel che i due non pensavano di trovare in zona e che le si è parato davanti proprio mentre lo Tzimisce si era allontanato per recuperare il Pik Up e l’attrezzatura. Distratta dall’uso di Necromanzia Jess viene colpita la prima volta alla testa… Niente di grave per fortuna, Maarten la raggiunge infatti in un istante, sebbene troppo tardi per recuperare il corpo del Gangrel, probabilmente portato in salvo dall’ultima delle guardie ancora viva, probabilmente un suo ghoul."
After almost 24 paranoid hours, thinkin about what will they ask her to do in order to break her humanity… Jessica almost feels relieved hearing her general’s plan, while he’s taking her to the destination, to an abandoned anthracite mine, belonging seems, to the Boston Prince’s daughter. The shovels, picks, and flammable liquid she saw on the van, along with the destruction the Tzimisce mentioned, were not about something horrible like a mass embrace of poor innocents, au contraire it’s about deprive the enemies of a resource, something that in war was more than legit. Jess tries her best to not disappoint the Tzimisce again, succeeds for the first time in casting the obscuration she learned from her Malkavian friend, killing from behind the first guardian without making a sound… and manages to defend herself pretty well in a gunfight forced by Maarten who broke her cover. And ok… she managed to dominate and save one of the guardians, but… overall she kills about half a dozen of them, and with some luck takes the soul of an unexpected Gangrel, who showed up right when the Tzimisce went to get the pick-up and the tools. Distracted by the use of Necromancy, Jess gets a hit to the head for the first time… nothing serious luckily, Maarten infact reaches her in a second, , even though it’s too late to recover the Gangrel’s body, probably saved by the last guarda live, one of his ghoul probably.
